DNA Paternity Testing

Testing Paternity DNA

DNA paternity testing is a procedure in which a determination is made pertaining to the biological inheritance of a DNA pattern between a father and a child. Because all children’s DNA is inherited from their parents, half from the mother and half from the father, its pattern can be compared providing evidence of a biological relationship. A DNA paternity test can result in exclusion or inclusion of the biology of the father as a contributor to the child’s genetic material. Depending upon the circumstances under which the paternity test is requested, the important factors for most people are its reliability, speed, cost, and legal admissibility.

Health-Link provides quality paternity DNA testing with a guarantee of 99.9% probability for inclusions and 100% assurance for exclusions whether the test involves complete parental DNA testing or is “motherless”. A “motherless” paternity test is done without the mother’s DNA, which includes a greater amount of analysis because one half of the child’s DNA is not excluded. Despite the required additional analysis, we provide “motherless” DNA testing at no additional charge with equally conclusive results. We run each test twice to guarantee the most accurate results possible, in most cases within 48 hours.

For those in need of results that are legally acceptable by courts and government agencies, Health-Link implements the Chain of Custody procedure. To ensure legality of the DNA test it must be administered by a disinterested third party, a chain of custody established, photographs taken of who the sample is from, as well as be completed at an accredited AABB lab. As one of the limited number of American Association of Blood Banks Labs accredited in the United States, we are more than equipped to handle paternity test DNA for admissible evidence in legal cases that involve child support or for Social Security benefit and inheritance claims.

Unlike many other test centers, Health-Link offers timely delivery of confidential results with no additional charge. Upon payment, we release DNA paternity test results immediately and can send them through first-class mail, fax, or courier, or you can take advantage of our 1-day or 3-day express service. Health-Link has a large network of collection sites scattered throughout the country, which in some cases can get you in the same day you call. Feel free to contact us to set up your appointment and take a look at our web site for a complete list of our high quality, low-cost DNA testing services. We even offer home paternity testing for those seeking privacy and convenience without the need for legally admissible results.
