Infidelity/Semen Testing

We offer Semen Detection and Infidelity tests. While the two tests are separate, they often go hand-in-hand. The semen detection test is utilized to test for the presence of semen and sperm. If a stain tests positive for seminal fluid and enough sperm is present, an infidelity test can be performed to tell you if the sperm matches your DNA or the DNA of another sample you submit.

How Semen Detection & Infidelity Testing works:

1. A semen detection test is performed to test a stain on an article of clothing for the presence of semen and sperm.
2. If semen is detected, you can request an infidelity test.
3. For an infidelity test, you may submit a buccal swab sample of the suspected donor of the semen, which will be compared against the DNA from the positive semen stain. It’s preferable to also submit a sample of the person who wore the garment.

The average turnaround time of a Semen Detection test is typically 7 days from the time of receipt of a garment. Next-Day and 2-Day STAT options are available when results are needed in a hurry. An Infidelity test is generally completed in just 3 - 4 weeks from the time of receipt of the samples for our lab to yield results.
